The invention relates to a method for operating a coin-operated entertainment appliance comprising a computer-assisted control unit for controlling play, a symbol playing device, a points display, a credit display, and optionally a risk playing device. According to said method, a level of points collected by a player during a playing phase is permanently stored at the end of the playing phase in a points bank integrated into the control unit, and is provided with an individual player identification.
