The tool has a rotating cutting tool and a protective hood (2) covering the cutting tool, where the hood has an insertion ring (4) for detachable and adjustable accommodation of the hood in a clamping neck. The ring is connected with a protective hood part, and has a locking unit (9) for axial-securing of the ring at the clamping neck. A locking device is formed as a blocking flange (7) in the hood, where the flange is connected with the hood part and is radially arranged outside the ring. The flange is attached with a housing-fixed component of the tool in a mounted condition.
