The present invention is related to the bed accessory manufacturing industry, mainly but not exclusively useful for hospitals and hotels, so as to preserve mattresses by covering the same with the present fabric. More particularly, the invention is related to plasticized fabrics having a predetermined composition useful for manufacturing mattresses and the like covers. The advantage of the present invention compared to the state-of-the art covers is that the inventive cover complies with comfort and waterproof characteristics by a process which allows the useful life of mattresses to be increased and parasite and disease transmission reduced. The fabric is characterised in that it comprises a foamed laminate including a mixture of acrylic resins located in a woven fabric made of cotton fibres or mixed with polyester fibres.
