A system and a method for providing information on a commodity appearing in a broadcasting program are provided to send a picture mail to a user terminal to simultaneously display a broadcasting program and information on a commodity appearing in the broadcasting program on a screen of the user terminal such that a user easily receives information on a desired commodity. A system for providing information on a commodity appearing in a broadcasting program includes a broadcasting producer(200) for providing a broadcasting program through a predetermined communication network(1), a commodity provider(300) for providing information on a commodity appearing in the broadcasting program, and a service provider(100) connected with a user terminal(400) to provide a picture mail service to the user terminal. The service provider performs a predetermined sign-in process based on personal information received through the user terminal and sends a picture mail to the user terminal such that the broadcasting program produced by the broadcasting producer and the information on the commodity appearing in the broadcasting program provided by the commodity provider are simultaneously displayed on a screen of the user terminal.
