PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the like for forecasting highly sensitive prognosis by which optimal prognostic treatment policy, e.g. detecting whether pathologic variation of p53 in tumor tissue/tumor cell exists or not and decreasing numbers of patients receiving unnecessary treatment in prognosis to many kinds of cancer patient can be decided. SOLUTION: The method for forecasting prognosis of cancer comprises (1) measuring an expression level of arbitrary gene group in table 1 in tumor tissue/tumor cell, (2) obtaining coefficient of correlation between gene-expression profile obtained from the expression level and previously obtained pathologic variant type and wild type gene-expression profile of p53 gene, (3) attributing the resultant gene-expression profile to gene-expression profile having a type in which correlation factor is larger and (4) determining that prognosis is poor in the case of morbid variation type gene expression profile and prognosis is good in the case of wide type gene expression profile.
