摘要 An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve an aperture ratio and secure a margin in designing shape or size of a storage electrode by forming a storage electrode with use of a transparent conductive layer. Gate lines and data lines are disposed on a substrate to define a plurality of pixels. An active layer pattern(202) is formed on the substrate. A gate insulating layer(203) is formed on the substrate including the active layer pattern. Gate electrodes(204a,204b) are formed on the gate insulating layer. An interlayer insulating layer is formed on the substrate including the gate electrode. A contact hole is formed in the gate insulating layer and the interlayer insulating layer. A source electrode(206a) and a drain electrode(206b) are formed on the interlayer insulating layer, and are connected to a predetermined area of the active layer pattern through the contact hole. A pixel electrode(209) is formed of a transparent conductive layer connected to the drain electrode. A storage electrode(205a) is formed of a transparent conductive layer connected to the storage line.
