An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the sealant from flowing onto an alignment layer in an active area, thereby preventing the breakage of liquid crystal alignment, by forming a sealant dispensing line before applying the sealant on a substrate so as to dispense the sealant at an accurate position. A lower substrate(10) and an upper substrate(30) are prepared. A sealant dispensing line(50) is formed on one of the two substrates. A sealant spread checking key(60) is formed on one of the two substrates. A sealant is applied on the sealant dispensing line. The two substrates are bonded to each other by using the sealant. After bonding the two substrates, the spread degree of the sealant is checked by using the sealant spread checking key. |
