A mobile communication terminal capable of saving power of the first communication module according to activation of the second communication module and a method thereof are provided to prevent the first communication module from being operated when the second communication module is activated, thereby saving power. The first communication module(210) supports a licensed network service. The second communication module(220) supports a GAN(General Access Network) service. A controller(231) converts the first communication module into a hibernation mode or releases the converted mode, depending on whether the second communication module is activated.
