A driving apparatus of a liquid crystal display is provided to prevent the distortion of a common voltage due to internal resistances of panel lines and common electrodes and thus to prevent generation of flickers by dividing the gate lines into blocks and compensating for a common voltage for each block. A liquid crystal panel(210) is formed by first to n-th gate line blocks, each of which consists of plural gate lines. First to n-th gate ICs(130-1~130-n) drive the gate lines. A common voltage generating unit(170) generates a common voltage to be supplied to the liquid crystal panel. First to n-th common voltage compensating units(220-1~220-n) compensate for the common voltage and supply the compensated common voltage to the liquid crystal panel. The common voltage is supplied to a common electrode of each pixel formed by the gate lines of the first to n-th gate line blocks.
