A medical wire having an in-vivo indwelling member connected to the tip end of a conductive wire body via a thermo-melting connection member, wherein specified heating can be provided even when a leakage-causing conductive member contacts the tip end of the wire body, and the in-vivo indwelling member can be positively released. This medical wire comprises a conductive wire body and an in-vivo indwelling member connected to the tip end thereof via a thermo-melting connection member, the connection member being heated and fused by being supplied with a fusing current via the wire body to release the in-vivo indwelling member, characterized in that a non-conductive coating film is formed on the outer peripheral surface of an electrode forming unit at the tip end of the wire body, and part of the surface of the wire body is exposed via the coating film to thereby form a heating electrode unit. |
