Fabric with an inner face (10) is formed from a yarn that is treated to render it hydrophobic (11) and is assembled in a manner that allows liquid to penetrate between the hydrophobic yarn to make contact with the hydrophilic yarn (12) that forms the outer face (20) of the fabric. It is preferred that the yarns are made from cotton fibres.
