A flexible display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to effectively prevent moisture or oxygen from permeating in a planarization layer, by forming a passivation layer to cover the planarization layer. A planarization layer(20) is deposited on a flexible substrate(10). The planarization layer has a smaller width than the flexible substrate. A display element(30) is formed on the planarization layer. A passivation layer(40) is formed to cover both of the planarization layer and the display element. The passivation layer has a large width than the planarization layer, and a smaller width than the flexible substrate. A circumferential end portion of the planarization layer is spaced apart from a circumferential end portion of the flexible substrate at an interval of less than 10cm. |
