A method for copying a firmware program by using a download board is provided to upgrade the firmware program of other embedded devices without making a ROM for upgrading the firmware program by copying the firmware program of the embedded device to the downloading board and using the copied firmware program. A firmware program copy mode or a firmware program download mode is selected based on a DIP(Dual In-line Package) switch setting state of the download board(S115). In the firmware program copy mode, the firmware program is copied to the download board(S121). In the firmware program download mode, the firmware program stored in the download board is downloaded(S131). A copy and download function is assigned to the firmware program stored in the download board, and the embedded device is operated by the firmware program stored in the download board while connecting the download board and a main board.
