IMAGE SENSOR AND DOWN SCALING METHOD IN IMAGE SENSOR

An image sensor and a method of scaling down of an image in the image sensor are provided to prevent steps from being formed at the edge of an image and effectively scale down the image by performing sufficient filtering on the image. An image sensor processes pixel data output from a pixel array to generate a bayer image and includes a first scale-down reduction unit(181) and a second scale-down unit(182). The first scale-down unit receives the bayer image and filters the received bayer image in vertical and horizontal directions to sub-sample the bayer image. The second scale-down unit scales down the sub-sampled bayer image by using bilinear interpolation.
