A method for manufacturing a display panel and a knife for applying a sealing agent used for the same are provided to apply a sealing agent around a liquid crystal layer simply without any precise control by using a curing applying knife in contacting glass substrates for capillary effect of fluid. A method for manufacturing a display panel includes the steps of preparing a pair of glass substrates implanted with a liquid crystal layer therebetween, moving a sealing agent applying knife(100) to the glass substrates for making blades(120) of the knife contact the glass substrates, and radiating UV(Ultraviolet) light to rims of the glass substrates for curing a sealing agent. The sealing agent applying knife is connected to a driving unit at a side by a connection element(110) and formed with a base part at the other side, wherein the plurality of blades are integrally protruded from the base part by a predetermined width in the lengthwise direction. The blades are covered with a predetermined amount of the sealing agent, so that the sealing agent is introduced into a small gap between the glass substrates to be applied to the liquid crystal layer. The blades are tapered by a predetermined angle(alpha). |
