A flat display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to produce a uniformly polymerized high-quality polymer thin film, by using a polymer precursor material containing a photo-initiator. A flat display device comprises a first substrate(132), a second substrate(102), and a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate. Driving elements are formed above the first substrate. A planarization layer(107) and a spacer(113) are formed above the first substrate or the second substrate. The planarization layer is formed of a polymer precursor material containing at least one photo-initiator. |
