A music selecting device using a GPS(Global Positioning System) and a method therefor are provided to reproduce a music file corresponding to location information(or speed information) of a vehicle by using the GPS, thus a driver does not have to directly operate a terminal to select the music file, consequently safe driving is accomplished. A GPS input unit(103) inputs vehicular location information received from a GPS antenna(200). A memory storage(104) stores the vehicular location information by matching the location information with each piece of music folder storage information. A voice output unit(105) processes music files stored within a music folder into signals to reproduce the signals. An audio amplifier(300) and right/left speakers amplify and output the reproduced music files. A CPU(Central Processing Unit)(106) reads the music folder storage information corresponding to the vehicular location information from the storage(104), and controls so that the music files stored within the music folder are reproduced by the output unit(105) based on the read storage information.
