Installation for the continuous tapping of pig iron from a blast furnace includes a magnetic pump for regulating the amount of pig iron being tapped, the pumps being near the furance close to the tapping hole. A closed pipe shaped channel for the pig iron, the aperture of which can be blocked and opened by drilling, for conducting the melt to the container- and transport carriages, there also being provided a small overflow trench to remove the slag. The pump ensures that the metal is removed at a predetermined rate, which can be varied. Furthermore the installation is easily reactivated after blockage and non use. |
