An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to equip a light shielding layer to a lower substrate without a black matrix layer. A light shielding layer(212) is formed on the first substrate. The second substrate is located oppositely to the first substrate and includes a color filter layer. A liquid crystal layer(230) is formed between the first and second substrates. In the first substrate, a gate layer forms a gate electrode and a gate line. A light shielding layer is formed on the same layer as the gate layer. A gate insulation layer covers the gate layer and the light shielding layer. A data layer is formed on the gate insulation layer and forms a source electrode, a drain electrode and a data line. The light shielding layer is overlapped with the data line. |
