A booting device of a telematics system and a method thereof are provided to reduce booting time by initiating a booting process using a remote control door-unlock signal. A remote control door signal detector(803) within a BCM(Body Control Module)(800) detects a remote control door signal generated from a remote controller when a driver tries to open/close a car door, and wherein the door signal is divided into a remote control door-unlock signal and a remote control door-lock signal according to a frequency of the detected door signal. If the door-unlock signal is detected, a CPU(Central Processing Unit)(110) of a telematics system(100) enables power to be supplied to each component except a voice output unit(107) and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)(102) by controlling a power supply unit(105), and loads an initialization program stored in a memory(104) to execute the program in order to perform a booting operation for initializing operation of each component.
