A device for measuring the residual capacity of a battery and a mobile communication terminal equipped with the same are provided to supply the exact exchanging or charging time of the battery to a user by accurately measuring the residual capacity of the battery without regard to electrical state of the battery or difference of products and displaying the result. A device(100) for measuring the residual capacity of a battery is composed of a voltage detecting unit(110) connecting a resistance to a power input/output stage of a battery cell of a mobile communication terminal and detecting the voltage applied to both ends of the resistance; an A/D(Analog To Digital) conversion unit(120) converting analog voltage measured by the voltage detecting unit, into digital data; a data storing unit(130) accumulating, adding, and subtracting the digital data sampled and converted at every regular time by the A/D conversion unit, and storing a current accumulated value output by dividing an accumulated value by a resistance value; and a control unit(140) reading the current accumulated value stored in the data storing unit and outputting a battery residual capacity value corresponding to the current accumulated value to a main processor. |
