A self-balanced multiple lining segment for a tunnel structure and a tunnel construction method is provided to diminish the overturning moment added on the inside of a tunnel and to reduce earth pressure added on the lining of a tunnel. The self-balanced multiple lining segments(8,9,10,11,12) are divided into a bottom section, side wall sections, arch sections and a ceiling section and installed on the inside of a pay line of a tunnel from the bottom section to the ceiling section in orders to use an inside space of a tunnel. After installing each multiple lining segment, the backside is filled with re-filling materials such as earth and sand or broken stones to increase resisting moment for preventing the overturn caused by dead weight of a balance plate(5) and to form a compressive zone against earth pressure added on the balance plate.
