A broadcasting frequency selection device and a selection method thereof are provided to quickly scan and select a changed frequency of a broadcasting program even though a listening area is changed, thus a listener can continuously listen to the same broadcasting program without deterioration of sound quality. A broadcasting frequency scanner(16) automatically scans broadcasting frequencies received in a region where a radio is positioned, and allocates broadcasting frequencies corresponding to each broadcasting station. A memory(17) stores frequency data allocated to each broadcasting station, particular broadcasting data set by an input device(15) for enabling a user to listen to a broadcasting program or frequency data of the broadcasting program, and frequency data of a broadcasting program that the user finally listens to. A comparison selector(18) decides on a moving area by comparing the scanned broadcasting frequency data with the data stored in the memory(17), and selects a broadcasting frequency of the corresponding area.
