An air belt for a vehicle safety belt is provided to allow a webbing to be easily wound into a retractor and to achieve aesthetic enhancement, by weaving an air bag cushion and a cover from the same material as a cushion of a curtain air bag. An air belt for a vehicle safety belt includes a safety belt(5) and an air belt(6). The air belt has an air bag unit(9) which is inflated from a webbing(1) by being supplied with gas through a tube(8) connected to an inflator(7). The air bag unit includes a cover(10), an air bag cushion(11), and a tear end. The cover is arranged to cover the webbing. The air bag cushion is woven onto a part of the cover such that the air bag cushion is inflated by the gas supplied through the tube. The tear end is woven at both ends of the cover such that the webbing and the air bag cushions are covered by the tear end. The tear end is separated from the air bag unit during deployment of the air bag cushion.
