The present invention consists of a shading device (7) for vehicle roofs with a transparent element which makes use of technical solutions specially designed for application on devices that have to cover large areas, where the inertial effects during acceleration and braking are greater than on those normally used. The invention is characterised by the use of a configuration of the locking elements (1) based on two modules, a first module (1.1) responsible for the guiding and sliding function and a second module (1.2) responsible for the locking function, where the two modules are separate, adjacent and integral with each other. The invention contemplates different ways of distributing the locking points on the shading device, as well as the use of diverging rails (6).
