A device for encrypting a PIN pad with a random key and an operation method thereof are provided to enhance security by interchanging a random number between a key input application and pin pad firmware, and solve the inconvenience of receiving a password after a predetermined time to prevent hacking. The PIN pad firmware(230) performs encrypted authentication with the key input application(220) by generating and using the random key. The key input application process key input in an automated banking machine, and transmits the encrypted random key generated by encrypting the random key to the PIN pad firmware.
