Provided is a flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition which is improved in heat resistance, impact strength and moldability and is lowered in water absorption by using a cyclic alkyl phosphonate ester compound. The resin composition comprises: 100 parts by weight of a rubber modified styrene-based resin; and 0.1-10 parts by weight of a cyclic alkyl phosphonate ester compound represented by the formula(1), wherein R1, R2 and R4 are independently a C2-C10 alkyl group; R3 is an ethyl group; m and n are 0, 1 or 2; and m+n is 0, 1 or 2. Optionally the composition comprises further 30 parts by weight or less of an aromatic phosphate compound. Preferably the aromatic phosphate compound is represented by the formula(2), wherein R3, R4 and R5 are independently H or a C1-C4 alkyl group; X is a C6-C20 aryl group or an alkyl-substituted C6-C20 aryl group and is derived from resorcinol, hydroquinol, bisphenol A, etc.; and n is 0-4.
