Provided are a novel Bacillus subtilis mutated strain GN13/72-DSN 17766 having a production cycle of 160-200 hours, more accurately 170-185 hours(from pre-seed to fermentation) and the production amount of from 1,000 to 25,000 ppm in dried state of dry matter, and a method for preparing vitamin K2 using the same. The method for preparing vitamin K2(MK-7) comprises a step of culturing Bacillus subtilis variant GN13/72-DSN 17766 deposited at DSMZ(Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und zellkulturen) on Dec. 5, 2005 in a culture medium comprising a carbon source such as dextrine or malto-dextrine and an anti-foaming agent such as soybean oil. |
