An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a dam at the edge of a process key by means of a column spacer. A color filter substrate is arranged on a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) array substrate. A pixel area is formed between the TFT array substrate and the color filter substrate. A black matrix is formed at the color filter substrate portion except for the pixel area. Process keys(131) are formed on the color filter substrate portion located at the black matrix area and the TFT array substrate corresponding to the color filter substrate portion. A seal pattern is formed at the black matrix located between the process keys and pixel area, and the TFT array substrate corresponding to the black matrix. A dam(125) is formed at the outer edge of the seal pattern. The process keys are formed at the edge portion of the TFT array substrate and the color filter substrate.
