A METHOD OF EPOXY RESINS FOR A PULVERULENT BODY PAINTS AND A PULVERULENT BODY PAINTS COMPOSITION

Provided are a method for preparing an epoxy resin for a powder paint, and a powder paint composition containing the epoxy resin prepared by the method which can be cured rapidly even at a low temperature and is excellent in flexibility and adhesion after painting. The method comprises the steps of reacting 100 parts by weight of an aliphatic or aromatic epoxy resin and 20-70 parts by weight of a butadiene rubber having a carboxyl group or a dimer acid so as to obtain a modified epoxy polyester resin; and reacting the modified epoxy polyester resin with a novolac epoxy resin and a polyvalent phenol in the presence of a catalyst so as to prepare an epoxy resin for a powder paint. The powder paint composition comprises 100 parts by weight of the epoxy resin prepared by the method; 25-50 parts by weight of a phenolic curing agent; 0.5-1.5 parts by weight of a fluidity enhancing agent; 0.1-0.6 parts by weight of a curing accelerator; and 25-50 parts by weight of a pigment.
