Heating plate for platen press

A heated plate press for the production of e.g. identity cards or credit cards has a heating plate with an upper section separated by a gap from the lower section. The two plates are linked at their outer margin by a brazed foil. One of the plates incorporates hot oil ducts (5, 6, 7) which bend the gap into a convex cross-sectional profile.
