The invention comprises #-alkoxyacrylic acid amides of the formula wherein R 1 is alkyl with more than 2 C atoms or cycloalkyl which may be substituted by (C 1 - C 4 ) alkyl, R 2 is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl which may be substituted by (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl; or aralkyl which may be substituted by halogen; and R 3 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl. They may be obtained by reacting a #-alkoxyacrylic acid chloride of formula with an amine of the formula in the presence of an acid-binding agent. Examples are given for the production of the compounds. They are useful as insecticides and acaricides. Compounds of the formula are obtained by reacting the appropriate alkylvinyl ether with COCl 2 at a temperature from 0‹ to 10‹ C. in the presence of tertiary amines. Examples are given for the production of #-(noctyloxy)-acrylic acid chloride and #-(3-methylcyclohexoxy)-acrylic acid chloride. |
