摘要 A vertical alignment mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a protrusion as a passivation layer on a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) substrate, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost. The first substrate(101) and the second substrate(121) are divided into the first and second regions. A driving device is formed to the first region of the first substrate. The first passivation layer is formed on the upper portion of the driving device. At least one second passivation layer is formed within the second region and distorts the electric field. The first electrode is formed within the second region. The second electrode is formed on the second substrate so that the electric field is formed between the first and second electrodes. A liquid crystal layer(131) is formed between the first and second substrates. The symmetric electric field is formed between the first and second substrates with the second passivation layer as the center. The first passivation layer is an organic passivation layer.
