A door switch for a washing machine is provided to prevent stress at a connection section of a door switch body and a safety lever from being concentrated by supporting a protruding rib of the switch body in state that the protruding rib is held in a hole formed in the safety lever. A door switch for a washing machine includes a door switch body(50), a fixed terminal, a movable terminal, a safety lever(60), and a support unit(70). The door switch body is installed in the washing machine so as to catch a hook of a door. The fixed terminal is installed in the door switch body. The movable terminal is installed in the door switch body so as to make contact with the fixed terminal. One end of the safety lever is rotatably connected to the door switch body so as to release the contact of the fixed terminal by the movable terminal when the hook of the door is separated from the door switch body. The support unit supports the safety lever to protect the connection section of the door switch body and the safety lever.
