PROCESS FOR SELECTING OBJECTS IN A PLM DATABASE AND APPARATUS IMPLEMENTING THIS PROCESS

A process for selecting objects in a PLM database and a device implementing the same are provided to enable a user to quickly display a view of an object set without loading a complete/precise expression of the view of all objects while the objects are selected in the view. A GUI(Graphic User Interface) part provides a GUI on a display part. The display part displays the view of the set of the objects stored in the PLM database to the GUI. The view displayed through the display part is a non-combined view. A volume defining part defines volume of the view. An object identifying part searches the PLM database and identifies a user object crossing the defined volume. A part identifying the object(23f,24lf) includes a part for collecting the precise expression of the identified object from the PLM database. A loading part loads the identified objects to an authoring tool in an active user-selectable area.
