The frame for a roller shutter (44) installed in a wall opening (20) for a door, window or French window with a lintel cavity (24) consists of a framework (18) within the opening and an architrave (19) that covers the joint between the framework and wall and a supporting beam (14) for the shutter. A panel (30) covering the open side of the shutter cavity and detachable for maintenance is fitted to the supporting beam so that the lower edge of its front face (30av) lies flush with the rear face (19ar) of the architrave's upper cross-piece. The top of the fixed framework has a stop-piece (34) for the panel's lower inner edge (30i).
