A skin-core type multi-functional complex fiber having antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-contaminating properties is provided to use titanium dioxide particles surface-treated by apatite developed by the nano technique. The skin-core type multi-functional complex fiber consists of titanium dioxide of 0.5 to 10 wt% relating to the weight of original fiber with apatite coated on a sheath fiber. The area occupied by the sheath fiber in the entire cross-section of the complex fiber is 5-90%. The thermoplastic resin is selected from a group consisting of polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, acrylonitryl butadiene styrene, polystyrene, polycarbonate and polyamide. Titanium dioxide particles with the diameter of above 30 to 100nm are added into the general resin chips by 1-20% and then polymer with the same or higher melting point than the general resin chip is melted and mixed so that a master batch chip is manufactured. The master chip is melted and mixed with the general thermoplastic resin. |
