A method and an apparatus for a channel estimation of a mobile terminal in a radio communication system are provided to improve a channel estimation accuracy by using both a pilot and a preamble. A channel estimation apparatus of a mobile terminal includes a preamble channel estimator(330), a pilot channel estimator(320), and a calculator. The preamble channel estimator receives a preamble which is extracted from a received signal, calculates the preamble, and generates a preamble estimation value. The pilot channel estimator receives a pilot which is extracted from the received signal, calculates the pilot, and generates a pilot estimation value. The calculator adds the preamble estimation value to the pilot estimation value and generates a channel estimation value. The preamble channel estimator performs a first-order interpolation on the preamble on a frequency axis.
