APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGING CONSUMPTION GOODS

A device and a method for managing consumption goods are provided to easily check a recycled cartridge by preventing a user from changing a quantity of toner remaining in a cartridge with a PROM incapable of changing written contents. The PROM includes at least one level areas corresponding to a consumption level of toner contained in the cartridge(100). A controller checks consumption of the toner contained in the cartridge and marks the level area of the PROM in response to increase of the checked consumption by corresponding to the checked consumption. The PROM includes initial maximum capacity information of the toner contained in the cartridge. The controller checks the consumption based on the initial maximum capacity information read when the cartridge is mounted and marked level area information.
