An IDE control system is provided to remove interface signal lines, IDE controller control part, and a buffer memory control for controlling a plurality of external storage devices by controlling the external storage devices with one IDE controller. The IDE controller(100) has the plurality of interface signal pins and a port selection signal pin. A switching module permits only one IDE port selected by a port selection signal to access a host by connecting to the port selection signal pin of the IDE controller. The plurality of IDE ports(221-224) are connected to the switching module. The switching module comprises a demultiplexer(421) connecting to the signal pins outputting a signal to the IDE port from the IDE controller among the interface pins and a multiplexer(422) connecting to the signal pins inputting the signal to the IDE controller from the IDE port among the interface pins.
