A polyethylene terephthalate nano-composite fiber and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve an initial modulus and a high-temperature modulus of the polyethylene terephthalate nano-composite fiber, by forming an ethylene terephthalate unit using an organic and inorganic nano-compound. A polyethylene terephthalate nano-composite fiber is manufactured by melt-spinning and drawing a polyethylene terephthalate nano-composite chip. The polyethylene terephthalate nano-composite chip contains ethylene terephthalate units of more than 85 mol%, wherein the ethylene terephthalate unit includes an organic and inorganic nano-compound. The organic and inorganic nano-compound has a content of 1-5 wt% based on the total weight of the ethylene terephthalate unit.
