<p>Static curd distributor, as used in the cheese industry, is intended to simply the moulding and manufacture of cheeses having as uniform a weight as possible. The new distributor consists of a tank with a base formed of a series of funnels, the upper edges of which are joined together. Each funnel has a lower tubular portion, drilled with very fine holes, which is introduced into a mould, the latter rest on a shutter which is placed on a horizontal support. During filling the lower ends of the funnels are closed by the shutter, the curds overflow above the upper parts of the funnels to form an upper equalisation surface. When the tank is raised the joind edges of the funnels acts as cutters and divided the curs in a strictli equal manner. the later expand horizontally into each mould in a uniform manner in all directions. The moulds may be separate or plastic multi-mould blocks may be used. Cheese of individual constant weight can be obtained and the moulding time is reduced.</p> |
