A driving method of a plasma display panel is provided to enhance a dark room contrast ratio by removing a part of background luminance due to a weak discharge during a reset period in off-cell. A plasma display panel is initiated by driving a ramp reset pulse using scan, sustain, and address electrodes. Duration of the ramp reset pulse, includes a ramp type rising period(81a) which rises from a predetermined first voltage(Vs) to a second voltage(V_peak). The rising period of the ramp reset pulse is formed by applying a predetermined voltage to the address electrode. The scan and sustain electrodes are grounded during the rising period of the ramp reset pulse. After the rising period, positive wall charges are accumulated in the scan and sustain electrodes, and negative wall charges are accumulated in the address electrode.
