RF ANTENNA USING DIELECTRIC RESONATOR

An RF antenna using a dielectric resonator is provided to decrease the size of a portable device, such as a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiver and a cellular phone, by reducing the size of the RF antenna operating at a low frequency band. An RF(Radio Frequency) antenna includes a dielectric resonator(200) and a resonance frequency shifting circuit(202). The dielectric resonator resonates at a frequency within a predetermined frequency band. The resonance frequency shifting circuit is coupled with the dielectric resonator and shifts the resonance frequency of the dielectric resonator. The dielectric resonator resonates at a frequency higher than a reception band. The resonance frequency shifting circuit changes the resonance frequency, such that the dielectric resonator resonates at a lower frequency than a predetermined value.
