A method for measuring degradation of the picture quality of a moving image is provided to quantitatively measure motion artifacts which degrade the quality of a moving image and quantitatively measure a degree of motion blur by using the motion artifacts. The quantity of light of a moving image, which is inputted to a light-receiving unit, is measured at a predetermined time interval(S70). The quantity of light in a still image having no motion blur, which must be inputted to the light-receiving unit, is measured or calculated at the predetermined time interval(S71). The difference between the quantity of light of the moving image and the quantity of light of the still image is calculated to quantitatively measure motion artifacts(S72).
