Process for building boat hulls of glass fibre reinforced plastic, esp. polyester, uses a prefabricated skin of the final desired shape, to which the glass fibre and polyester are applied by hand until the desired thickness and strength are reached. The method may be used for hulls, decks, superstructures and obviates the use of a negative mould. It is therefore esp. suitable for amateur boat building. The skin may be collapsible for transporting it. |
