A method for discharging cash in an automated banking device using a modem is provided to increase transaction quantity of each device while reducing transaction time by connecting a call to a banking server through pre-dialing of the modem when a customer selects a menu after inserting a banking card, or inputs a password after inserting the banking card and selecting the menu. The customer selects a cash withdrawal menu after inserting the banking card or a bankbook into the automated banking device(S304). A controller requests the call for the banking server through the modem by using a predetermined phone number(S306). The controller displays a message for guiding password input and receives the password from the customer during a connection process(S310). The controller display an input windows for a withdrawal amount(S312) The customer is authenticated by determining whether the inputted password is identical with the password corresponding to an account number(S314). If the customer is authenticated, the cash corresponding to the inputted amount is dispensed to the customer(S320). |
