A backlight assembly is provided to prevent darkness at a corner portion of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) by using a lamp holder including a diffusion material and causing the lamp holder to overlap a lamp effective area at a predetermined area. A lamp electrode applies power to a lamp(10). A transparent lamp holder(20) insulates the lamp electrode and overlaps a predetermined area of the lamp to diffuse light. The lamp holder protects the lamp and includes a transparent polymer having silicon which does not change its color by heat. The lamp holder includes a diffusion material(17) containing TiO2 and diffusing light. A lamp housing protects the lamp and reflects the light generated from the lamp. A light guide plate is bonded to the lamp and changes a path of the light emitted from the lamp. An optical sheet group concentrates light. |
