A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to perform a stable sustain discharge by adjusting a sustain discharge voltage level according to temperature during a sustain period. Plural first electrodes are divided into plural groups including first and second groups(YG1,YG2). In at least one sub-field, which includes plural address and sustain periods corresponding to the respective groups, cells to be displayed are selected among cells of the first and second groups during respective address periods of the first and second groups. A sustain discharge is operated during a first sustain period(S11) between the address period of the first group and the address period of the second group. The temperature of a plasma display panel and the peripheral temperature are detected, such that a first voltage level, which is a voltage difference between the first and second electrodes, is determined during the first sustain period according to the temperature.
