An air conditioner is provided to improve a structure for fixing a fixing bracket to a cabinet for preventing damage of the cabinet by a load of an indoor heat exchanger and improving assembling work of the air conditioner. An air conditioner comprises a cabinet(20) having a flange(23) folded inward from an upper end, and a fixing bracket(50) having a rear surface plate(51) to be coupled with a rear panel(21) of the cabinet and a bracket flange(53) coupled with the folded flange of the cabinet by coupling elements(60). The cabinet has side panels(22) folded forward from both side ends of the rear panel. The folded flange of the cabinet is formed of side flanges(23b) folded inward from the side panels and a rear flange(23a) folded inward from the rear panel. The bracket flange is formed of side bracket flanges(53b) at side plates(52) and a rear bracket flange(53a) at the rear plate.
